Ugh...another one of those fitness girls just showing off!

For the longest time I was hesitant to share pictures of my body for that exact reason. Fear of being labeled as another “fitness girl” who’s never struggled with her weight and just wants to show off.

It wasn’t until a friend called me out when I realized these were just bullshit excuses I was telling myself and anyone’s opinion of whether or not I was showing off was one of my business.

The fitness industry easily becomes synonymous with weight loss, but that's not the only goal of a lot of young women looking to achieve a healthy lifestyle. This day and age the demands of a busy schedule, balancing a career, homelife, and hobbies can lead to a great deal of stress which negatively impacts our health and life.

Having the time, energy, and resources to achieve our individual health and fitness goals is a long term goal in itself.

Most people assume I’m in “perfect” health since I’m a fitness pro. Yes, I’m in great health, but live with two medical conditions that affect my metabolism allowing me to maintain or lose weight easily.

I’ve literally had people tell me to stop exercising and that I was “so lucky” to eat whatever I wanted since losing weight is easy.

First of all, perfect doesn’t exist, exercising is beneficial for a number of reasons, and though I’m all about eating the foods we want, I’m not eating empty calories on a consistent basis making me feel like crap.

I support you in achieving whatever your weight management and fitness goals may be.

But remember this, no matter what your shape or size is, or any medical conditions and/or physical limitations you may have, appreciate your health, body and all the great things it allows you to do.
